Research translation on the strengths of Aboriginal community controlled health organisations

One of the key findings arising from the Southgate Institute’s 5 year (2009-2014) NHMRC project on comprehensive primary health care were the strengths of the Aboriginal community controlled health organisation model evident at the partner organisation Central Australian Aboriginal Congress Aboriginal Corporation.

This finding has been the focus of research translation efforts at the Southgate, including a reader-friendly report of the key findings, available here, funded by Central Australian Aboriginal Congress and authored by Dr. Pamela Lyon, and an open access journal article in Harvard’s Health and Human Rights Journal, available here, which has the subject of a Flinders University media release, and received some media attention in a Northern Territory newspaper.

More information and outputs from the comprehensive primary health care project are available from the project webpage: http://www.flinders.edu.au/medicine/sites/southgate/research/primary-health-care-and-community-services/cphc/cphc_home.cfm
