The Southgate Institute would like to congratulate Dr Fisaha Tesfay for winning a two-year Dean’s Research Postdoctoral Fellowship at Deakin University commencing in April 2020. The Fellowship, worth $215,000, provides a two year salary and a small research support grant. His postdoctoral fellowship will examine the trends, magnitude and policy response of NCDs as an emerging health challenge in Ethiopia.

Dr Fisaha finished his PhD at the Southgate institute, Flinders University in September 2019 and he was supervised by Dr Sara Javanparast (then Southgate), A/Prof Anna Ziersch (Southgate), A/Prof Lilliam Mwanri (Public Health) and A/Prof Afework Mulugeta (Mekelle University, Ethiopia).
