Until next time, Leicester

My time here at Leicester is coming to an end. It is unbelievable how quickly time has passed. In only 3 weeks I will be packing my room off and leaving Leicester. But between now and then, I have 10 essays to complete and a lot of traveling yet to do!

My semester at Leicester has gone unbelievably quick – just when I have started saying pounds instead of dollars, mastered the UK rail network and finally remembered my student id number.  In such a short amount of time, I have studied areas I would not have studied at home, and seen and experience things I never would have dreamed of doing at home.  There is so much more I wish I could see and do, but unfortunately my time is now coming to an end.

In the next three weeks, apart from writing ten essays, I am going to Manchester and Liverpool for two days and I plan on going on a few more day trips around the UK.  On Saturday, I arrived back from a few days away in Bristol and Bath.  Bath, famous for the Roman Baths and its architecture, is definitely my favourite place I have visited so far and I would highly recommend going. After the semester officially ends, I will be traveling around Europe and hopefully, will experience a white Christmas.

I have absolutely no regrets about doing this exchange. It has been such a worthwhile experience and I have gained skills and knowledge that I probably would not have learnt at home.  I feel more confident and independent than ever before and I am now better prepared for life after university.

For anyone considering doing an exchange, it’s absolutely worth doing. Not only do you get to study and experience university in a different country but it is a great way to travel and meet people from all over the world. It is an experience you will never get as just a tourist. If you want to immerse yourself in the culture and community of a country, then do an exchange!
