From Monday 25 November there are a number of projects commencing in and around car park 1 and the Student Centre building. These projects include building new solar canopies, the replacement of the Student Centre lift, the replacement of some cement panels on the Student Centre and sewer replacement works.

The top level of car park 1 will be temporarily closed from Monday 25 November. We will reopen this level as soon possible. The middle and lower levels of car park 1 will remain open, with all pedestrian access from car park 1 being via the stairs next to the Sport Centre. The pedestrian ramps from car park 1 to the Hub and Biology will be temporarily unavailable.

If car park 1 is full, please follow the parking signs to the next available car park (try car parks 9 and 3). Mobile signage will be in place before you reach car park 1 to provide the latest information.

As part of our sustainability initiatives we’re installing solar canopies in car parks 1, 2 and north of the footbridge. These fantastic canopies will charge built-in batteries in the seating to power phone charging points and lighting with clean, renewable solar energy. The solar canopies in car parks 1 and 2 will also feature large poster boards. Works will take place:

• Car park 2 (near the main pedestrian path to campus) – 11 November to 16 December 2019
• North of the footbridge – 11 November to 16 December 2019
• Both car park 1 canopies – 25 November to 20 December 2019.
