AASW Lunchbox Series for Social Work Students

The AASW WA Branch (supported by the SA Branch) is hosting a series of webinar sessions which are designed to assist students gain additional knowledge to top up areas that they may feel they have missed as a result of COVID-19 restrictions to field placements.  The series runs from August to October 2020.

Sessions are $5 each for Student members and $15 each for non-member Students.  Or they can gain discounts by purchasing all of the sessions at once.

Wednesday 5th August – Introduction (FREE SESSION)

Thursday 20th August – Rural Social Work

Wednesday 2nd September – Trauma and Behaviour Support Strategies
Todays “Lunchbox” contains a discussion on understanding Trauma and Behaviour Support Strategies by Michelle Blogna

Thursday 17th September – Assessing Risk and Maintaining Safety
Todays “Lunchbox” contains a helpful discussion of Assessing Risk and Maintaining Safety while carrying out your job. Presenter TBA

Wednesday 30th September – Mental Health
Todays “Lunchbox” contains a candid discussion of Ryan’s insights into the field of mental health by Ryan Hill

Thursday 15th October – Maintaining Social Work Identity
Todays “Lunchbox” contains a candid discussion of Helen’s insights into Maintaining Core Social Work Values when working in settings that subscribe to different values and work cultures by Helen McMahon

Wednesday 28th October – Vicarious Trauma and Compassion Fatigue
Our panellists will consider the wellbeing and support mechanisms they have put in place to ensure the longevity of their professional working life by Dawn Logan, Ryan Hill and Michelle Blogna
