Electrical works around Flinders

There are a number of planned electrical outages in July across Bedford Park and Tonsley.

Safety switch testing, 6 – 14 July 2020, Bedford Park

From Monday 6 July – Tuesday 14 July, we’re undertaking our mandatory 6 monthly safety switch testing across Bedford Park to maintain the electrical network and ensure compliance with relevant safety standards. These works are scheduled for January and July every year.

There will be a brief power outage associated with the testing and this will affect most power/lighting circuits but will not affect the lifts. All electrical equipment should be shut down prior to these times and the detailed schedule is available below.

Note: Central library safety switch testing has already been completed.

Engineering building outage, 11 – 12 July 2020, Bedford Park

There will be a power outage to the Sir Eric Neal (Engineering) building from 7am Saturday 11 July – 5pm Sunday 12 July.

The building will be closed over this weekend for safety reasons and no access will be permitted. For people located in this building, please ensure electrical equipment and computers are shut down before this event.

Tonsley building power shutdown, Sunday 19 July, Tonsley

The annual Tonsley power shut down will take place on Sunday 19 July 2020 from 7am – 5pm to allow maintenance to occur. This includes the Flinders building and pods.

The building will be closed during this time and no access will be permitted.  Please ensure electrical equipment and computers are shut down before this event.

Thanks for your understanding as we undertake this important electrical work. If you have any queries, please contact us via Service One, General Property or Facilities query.
