From May this year, you will be able to login to the student website to view personalised information such as:
- FAN and Student ID details
- Your timetable
- Course information
- Topic information
- Your GPA
- A hyperlink to your College page/s
- Links to your topic sites in FLO
We need to decide on a name for this personalised version – do we call it Compass or do we call it the Student Portal? Can you help?
Why call it Compass?
This personalised tool (to be implemented for students to use in May) has been designed with students for students. When the Student View Group (SVG) was formed to consult on this initiative we asked them for a name to represent the project. They called it ‘Project Compass’ as we are providing guidance and direction to develop and transform the student experience at Flinders.
Now what we want to know from you… once the login is launched should we continue to use the name Compass to refer to this personalised tool? The benefits of this would be:
- Compass branding (for easy recognition)
- The name is easily distinguishable from other Flinders’ online systems
- The concept connects with navigating around the university
- The name is unique.
The alternative is to simply name the tool the Student Portal.
