Flinders is decommissioning the Statement of Assessment Methods (SAMs) by the end of 2024. SAMs will not be generated for 2025 topics.

This is being done to reduce duplication of effort in managing assessment data and to enhance visibility of assessment information for prospective and enrolled students and Flinders staff.

Assessment information will be published in the Handbook Flinders University Handbook and FLO will continue to be the source of truth for all topic assessment information for enrolled students.

The same support pathways remain in place for students regarding assessment queries via AskFlinders or respective College SAS email.

In addition, some enhancements to the Handbook are planned to be rolled-out before the end of the year.

Incorporating user experience best practice, these enhancements will help students find essential information that was previously difficult to locate, leading to better academic planning and decision-making.

As a result of these enhancements the Handbook will look slightly different to existing users, however all information previously available will remain.
