Each college has a WIL operational support team to assist with the professional tasks required to support students undertaking placements. To achieve more centralised coordination, the WIL support activities are organisationally incorporated into the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT); however, operational support is located at the college level.

College WIL staff have been allocated based on operational requirements and the structure includes the following positions:
- WIL Coordinator
- WIL Support Officer
- WIL Administrative Support Assistant.
These positions report up through the Manager, Work Integrated Learning to the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Learning and Teaching Innovation).
A key priority for operational staff is to support the delivery of high-quality placement experiences to students in their specific course. This includes ensuring legal requirements are fulfilled in relation to student placements, managing relationships with industry contacts, and providing support to academic staff and practitioners.
