Social media guidelines

Flinders University is experiencing increasing levels of engagement with our community via social media. This development is consistent with the University’s vision, community expectations, and the increasing use of social media by universities to connect and engage with their communities.

The Flinders University social media guidelines for staff aim to ensure that participation in social media is consistent with our policies and procedures, protects our reputation and the professional reputation of staff, is respectful of the views and privacy of individuals and is in accordance with the generally accepted standards of use in social media communities.

The guidelines also provide a process for the establishment of any social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc)  that represent Flinders University. If you have any questions about the use of social media and the guidelines contact the Head, Online Communications, in the Marketing & Communications Office.
