How healthy are Australians?
This and many other questions can be explored through the wealth of information available from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
On Thursday 13 March from 3pm-4.30pm in the Noel Stockdale Room of the Central Library, Ms Michelle Marquardt, Head of the Health and Disability Branch from the ABS will discuss:
• the recent Australian Health Survey which more than 46,000 Australian’s participated in and covers nutrition, biomedical and physical activity information
• other health related data sources including: mental health, disability, deaths, health risk factors
• how University researchers can access this information for free
and will also demonstrate Survey TableBuilder, a product that enables users to create their own tables of data.
Ms Marquardt has extensive experience in social and economic statistics from a career that has spanned the ABS, the Department of Health, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
