Psychologist Dr Owen Churches’ research on the recognition of emoticons (text-based graphics, such as ‘smiley faces’) continues to be reported internationally, while Professor Marika Tiggemann’s research on body image was quoted in reports in Sunday newspapers in the eastern States. The Sidney Myer Chair in Rural Education and Communities, Professor John Halsey,  made a call for specialised schools in rural SA, which was reported in the Advertiser and on ABC Radio.
