Fiji’s new constitution: Friday at the Library

Professor Satendra Nandan, a Labour MP and a cabinet member of Fiji’s Bavrada government before losing his position in the military coups of 1987, is now a member of the country’s Constitution Commission.

In this talk, Fiji: The Fourth Constitution after Four Coups, he will discuss the Constitution-making principles and practices for a modern, multi-ethnic Fiji and how the new constitution is radically different from all previous Constitutions.

The event will be at 3.30pm on Friday, June 20 in the Noel Stockdale Room of the Central Library, and will be chaired by Professor David Bamford.
