Knee research: participants wanted

Flinders researchers are seeking participants in between the ages of 60 and 80 years old to take part in an activity monitoring research project, ‘A comparison of knee functionality before and after knee replacement surgery’.  The research project aims to identify how well total knee replacement patients recover following their surgery and their ability to commence activities such as walking, sitting and stair climbing.

Individuals with normal knee functionality will also be monitored for a period of one week.
The results obtained from the activity monitoring will then be compared to those obtained from total knee replacement patients prior and following their surgery.

A total of 100 participants will be included in this study; 50 participants requiring total knee replacements and 50 participants with normal knee function.

All individuals with no knee pathology such as arthritis and within the age group of 60 to 80 will be eligible to participate. Your consent will be required prior to taking part in the following research project.

If you are interested in participating or if you would like further information, please contact Daisy Mohtar via email.
