Lecture and symposium look at miscarriages of justice

KentThe Centre for Crime Policy & Research is hosting a free public lecture and symposium that will address some of the key issues surrounding miscarriages of justice.

Professor Kent Roach is of Toronto University is one of Canada’s leading scholars on issues dealing with miscarriages of justice, terrorism, constitutional and indigenous issues. He will present Lessons to be learned from Canada’s Judicial Inquiries on Miscarriages of Justice: Developing and enforcing standards at Flinders University Victoria Square on Thursday 6 November at 6pm.

On Friday 7 November and Saturday 8 November, a symposium  with leading scholars and experts from around Australia exploring the explore a range of themes associated with Miscarriages of Justice. These will include the existence of current standards, professional, scientific or legal; the enforcement mechanisms available to ensure compliance; the approaches to the improvement of current standards and methods of enforcement.
