- Healthy Bones Action Week, 3-9 August – Healthy Bones Action Week has been encouraging people of all ages to protect their bones since 1994. Osteoporosis is one of the least-discussed, under-diagnosed and under-treated diseases in Australia, yet poor bone health affects 2 in 3 Australians over 50 years, including a growing number of men
- 40 Hour Famine, 14-16 August – give something up for 40 hours and help fight global hunger
- Hearing Awareness Week, 23-29 August – hearing impairment, or deafness, is when your hearing is affected by a condition or injury. Some people are born with a hearing loss while others may develop it as they get older
- Daffodil Day, 28 August – wear a Cancer Council pin and show you care about beating cancer this Daffodil Day
Oasis– A University Centre for hospitality, wellbeing and inclusive spirituality that aims to inspire a culture of care.
Flinders Events
- Flinders Fitzy’s Fun Run, 9 August, Torrens Parade Grounds, to raise awareness and funds to support cancer research.
- Flinders University Cup, Tuesday’s starts 8 August on University Oval, to encourage physical activity and improve fitness.
