Resthaven nursing scholarships launched

ResthavenThe Resthaven 80th Anniversary Scholarship Program was launched in the School of Nursing and Midwifery on September 23.

‘We wanted to acknowledge Resthaven’s 80th anniversary in a meaningful way, and providing scholarships to support the future aged care workforce is a great way of doing that,’ said Resthaven CEO, Richard Hearn.

The scholarships will run from 2015 to 2017, and are open to both undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students.

‘The provision of these scholarships not only recognises the integral role that nurses play in ensuring quality outcomes in aged care, but also proactively encourages them to consider a future aged care career,” Mr Hearn said.

‘Resthaven and Flinders University have worked together on several initiatives, including student placements and joint research initiatives. and this collaboration cements the linkages between the two South Australian institutions.’

The 2015 Resthaven 80th Anniversary Scholarship recipients are undergraduate students Brittany Cugliari and Katherine Boyd, and postgraduate Belinda Sharp.
