The ebook version of Restoration of Coastal Dunes, edited by Strategic Professor in Coastal Studies Patrick Hesp and colleagues Dr Marisa Martinez (INECOL, Mexico), and Dr Juan Gallego-Fernandez (University of Sevilla, Spain), has just reached a total of 17,172 downloads, making it one of the top 50 per cent most downloaded ebooks in the Springer range, according to a report released by the academic publisher .

The book, published in 2013, was downloaded 4,462 times in 2015, and 8,157 times in 2014.  Professor Hesp said that the editors intention was to widely influence thinking and behaviour on the restoration of coastal dunes and, in particular, to highlight their value for protecting communities as climate change drives rising sea levels in coming years.
