In a symbolic expression of sympathy for the victims of the recent multiple deaths in Orlando, Florida, Flinders ran rainbow lights on its building at Tonsley on June 15 and 16.

The University also published the following message on its Facebook page: “Flinders University expresses its grief and and stands in solidarity with the LGBTI community and all who have been affected by the Orlando mass shooting. Love, dignity, kindness and respect is the right of every individual. Education is the key to overcoming prejudice and creating a better world; Flinders restates its commitment to making a difference.”
