Parappilly takes the Chair

Dr Maria Parappilly has been elected as the Chair of the Topical Group on Physics Education (PEG) at the Australian Institute of Physics AGM.

The AGM is held as part of the Joint 13th Asia Pacific physics conference and the 22nd Australian Institute of Physics Congress in Brisbane last week.

Since 2008, Dr Parapilly has served as the SA-representative of PEG on the national committee at the AIP.

She contributed to the community effort at the national level in developing agreed minimum academic standards for physics graduates from an Australian university.

Her new role will advise the National AIP Council on educational matters and to be responsible for the Education program at National Congresses.
