The inside track on working in the social economy

The Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) and The Don Dunstan Foundation will host the inaugural Social Capital Residencies Showcase event next Tuesday (2 May).

The event is an opportunity for participants to hear about successful initiatives and to meet others working in the social economy.

Allyson Hewitt, Don Dunstan Foundation’s Thinker in Residence, will make her first public appearance of the Social Capital Residencies.

Allyson leads the social innovation programs at MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, Canada.

Allyson has assisted hundreds of social ventures to become economically sustainable and increase their social impact, has initiated and implemented public policy to support social enterprise and has developed a range of social innovation programs at MaRS.

Following an economic briefing you will learn about local initiatives, innovations and business models along with rapid fire presentations from start-ups, established businesses, academia and government creating jobs in the social economy.
