Bequests to Flinders – what you need to know and more

Bequests have played a role in Flinders University’s development from its beginnings 50 years ago, supporting the University, allowing us to deliver optimum educational and research outcomes for the community, state, national and global priorities.

Our bequest program was revitalised during our 50th year, with a renewed approach to engaging our confirmed supporters and those enquiring about leaving a gift in their Will. A suite of new communication materials was developed and more recently, the University’s giving webpage updated. A package of these bequest brochures and booklets will be distributed to your Faculty admin offices over the next week or we invite you to pick one up from the Alumni & Development Office, 109 Registry.

As recipients of donated funds, the University has  professional and ethical responsibilities that we must adhere to, ensure the respect and trust of our donors and prospective donors is maintained, and to protect the University’s brand and Deductible Gift Recipient status with the Australian Taxation Office.

The Alumni and Development team are here to support you in this process. New fact sheets and guidelines are available for you to access online: “Giving to Flinders Staff Toolkit” or talk to us if you have any questions.
