Flinders staff are encouraged to use their own cup or mug when purchasing coffee on campus in an effort to reduce unnecessary landfill.

Take-away coffee cups are not biodegradable and even those that look like cardboard are lined with plastic that renders them unable to be recycled. Australia uses more than one billion take-away coffee cups annually, creating a significant issue for the environment.

All coffee outlets on campus will fill your own cup for you should you ask and some offer a discount to those who do:

• Grind and Press: 50c discount per cup
• Café Bon Voyage: 50c discount per cup
• Wholefoods: 20c discount per cup
• Urban Paddock & Co: 20c discount per cup (free large coffee with the purchase of any KeepCup)
