The changing shape of the education workforce will come under scrutiny at the next Higher Education Research and Development Society of Australasia (HERDSA) event on 26 October.

Jeannie Rea, President of the National Tertiary Education Union, will be talking about ‘Sessional Staff and Career Trajectories’, examining current employment situations and exploring outcomes for greater job security.

The session will examine current higher education workforce data showing a rise of casual academic teaching positions, and that four out of five academic researchers are likely to be employed on short contracts.

The event will take place at Flinders Victoria Square from 9.30am-11.30am.
