Glamping at Glastonbury: insights into a tent empire

The ‘Entrepreneurs in Conversation’ series run by Flinders New Venture Institute will resume with a breakfast presentation on 28 February by Jennifer Oldland, founder and owner of luxury glamping company, Camp Kerala.

Having transformed herself from a barrister to England’s celebrated Tent Lady, Jennifer’s entrepreneurial journey is inspiring for its unconventional pathway.

In response to the explosion of colour and activity of the Glastonbury Festival that unfolds each year in the valley below her property, Jennifer saw an opportunity to provide a superior accommodation option for festival-goers.

In 2005, stepping far outside her comfort zone, she swapped the Old Bailey for upmarket tent lodgings, and is now setting a high benchmark for luxury event experiences.

The ‘Entrepreneurs in Conversation’ event, which runs from 7.30am-9.00am, is being held on Level 1 of Flinders at Victoria Square.

Adelaide radio personality Rilka Warbanoff will ask Jennifer about her magical (and somewhat bumpy) journey to building a successful and ethical new business.
