Cancer conquering Professor nominated for international award

Flinders University’s Professor Bogda Koczwara has been accepted as a nominee for the prestigious Women Who Conquer Cancer (WWCC) Mentorship Awards, which honour extraordinary leaders.

The WWCC Mentorship Awards, to be presented on June 3 2018, internationally recognise female leaders in oncology who are exceptional mentors and also demonstrate an outstanding commitment to the professional development of female colleagues.

Being accepted as a nominee is recognised as a significant accomplishment, with 50 nominations accepted for the 2018 awards and only 14 of these from countries outside of the United States.

Professor Koczwara is a medical oncologist at the Flinders Centre for Innovation in Cancer, with interests that include breast cancer management, cancer survivorship, psychooncology and supportive care, health services development and cancer education for health care professionals.

She is developing a Survivorship Program at Flinders which aims to promote excellence in clinical care and research relating to the needs of cancer survivors.
