Exploring lean tissue and muscle in chronic disease

Visiting Professor Carrie Earthman will share her perspectives on the implications and assessment of body composition in acute and chronic disease, in a guest lecture on 8 May 2018.

The lecture, ‘Body Composition in Acute and Chronic Disease: Clinical Implications and Assessment Opportunities and Challenges’ will focus on lean tissue and muscle assessment, highlighting the strengths and challenges of techniques such as ultrasound and bioimpedance, together with future research opportunities.

Professor Earthman is the Professor of Nutrition at the University of Minnesota. Her presentation will be followed by a multi-disciplinary research meeting to discuss current research projects, project pitches and opportunities for collaboration both within and outside of Flinders University.
