Flinders PhD students Javad Tavakoli and Dhara Amin won awards at the 29th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Spine Society of Australia, held in Adelaide last weekend, 27- 29 April 2018.
Mr Tavakoli won the Inaugural Clayton Adam Award for Best ECR Scientific Presentation: Tavakoli J, Amin DB, Freeman BJC, Costi JJ; The biomechanics of the inter-lamellar matrix and the lamella during disc herniation: Which is the weakest link?
Ms Amin won Best Poster Award: Amin DB, Moawad C, Costi JJ. Analysis of internal disc strains and injury simulation of repetitive lifting motions.
Each award came with a cash prize of $1,000.
