A half-day forum hosted by the Don Dunstan Foundation will explore the co-operative business model and how it can benefit those who operate in the disability services, health, or well-being sectors.
The National Disability Insurance Scheme has disrupted the care market-place and co-operatives are playing a new role in the world of consumer-led care.
International experts in care co-operatives and social enterprise will discuss the opportunities, showcase successful care co-operatives in the United Kingdom and provide practical advice on how to design and run a co-operative in Australia. An optional workshop session will follow.
Speakers
Dr Guy Turnbull from the United Kingdom (who will return to the Don Dunstan Foundation in late 2018 as a Thinker in Residence) and Melina Morrison, CEO of the Business Council of Co-operatives and Mutuals.
Workshop
The practical workshop will explore the principles, thresholds and building blocks of co-operative business models.
