This week’s free lectures at Flinders University include nanoscience, history and archaeology topics.
Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology Seminar Series
Flinders Institute for Nanoscale Science and Technology is hosting a fortnightly series of free lectures with guest lecturers presenting on a range of chemistry, physics and nanotechnology topics.
This week’s event will feature Professor Mike Ford from the University of Technology, Sydney, who will deliver a lecture titled ‘From 2D materials to van der Waals heterostructures’.
Graphene, at just a single atom thick, is a classic example of a two-dimensional material. Professor Ford will talk about his research which uses computational approaches and machine learning to discover new two-dimensional materials, particularly those which may be suitable for LED and solar panel use.
