Board role for Flinders physiotherapy expert

Professor Sheila Lennon, Foundation Chair of Physiotherapy at Flinders University, has been appointed as practitioner-member for South Australia to the Physiotherapy Board of Australia (Physiotherapy BA) for a three-year term.

Physiotherapy BA works in partnership with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, and Professor Lennon’s role on the Board will include governance of registration, developing standards, codes and guidelines for the physiotherapy profession, handling notifications and complaints, and assessing overseas trained physiotherapists who wish to work in Australia.

Professor Lennon’s area of research and teaching expertise is neurological rehabilitation, and she continues to work on research projects for upper limb rehabilitation following stroke, and falls prevention for people with Multiple Sclerosis.
