Cash rewards for smart ideas to improve aged care

CareHack is a group collaboration event being hosted at Flinders in February 2019 that will be striving to make a difference in aged care.

It’s an issue that needs immediate attention: by 2053, one-quarter of Australia’s population will be aged 65 and over. Therefore, aged care needs are increasing, along with rising health costs, and our current care system is not keeping up with the increasing expectations of older people and their families.

CareHack is a multi-day event, held in the Physical Sciences building at Bedford Park from 8am to 4.30pm on Saturday 16 February and Sunday 17 February, 2019, bringing together people from multiple disciples to work intensively on new ideas that re-imagine aged care and its current challenges.

To help stimulate a strong platform for discussion, CareHack participants are being encouraged to present fresh ideas, concepts and solutions to this important think tank, with cash prizes being offered for the best ideas – First Prize of $2000, Second Prize of $1000 and Third Prize of $500.
