Have your say

A draft Flinders University Intellectual Freedom Policy is open for comment. It has been developed in line with the University’s Enterprise Agreement.

The Higher Education Support Act requires Australian universities to have a policy that upholds free intellectual inquiry in relation to learning, teaching and research.

Although a policy effectively exists in Flinders’ Enterprise Agreement, this has now been formalised into a formal draft policy, located in the Flinders Policy Library, which is open for comment until Friday, 5 April 2019.

A review of freedom of speech within Australia’s higher education sector is currently underway and any outcomes relevant to the Flinders policy will be evaluated as they are released.
