Electrical outages at Bedford and Tonsley

A rolling program of power outages will occur over the mid-year break to safely conduct electrical upgrade, maintenance and testing works. These works are essential to help protect the security and continuity of the University’s electrical supply into the future.

The following buildings will be affected

Saturday 13 July:

  • IST
  • Engineering
  • SILC
  • Data Centre

Sunday 14 July:

  • Law & Commerce
  • Education Building
  • Multifunction Performance Centre
  • Flinders at Tonsley

Building occupants are asked to please shut down computers prior to the outages and where possible, avoid the buildings listed on this schedule on that day. For those on campus care needs to be taken to save work regularly.

Outages may last from five minutes to approximately 45 minutes and these times are subject to change without warning.

Flinders at Tonsley building closed – Sunday 14 July

The Tonsley main building annual power shut down for electrical maintenance will occur on Sunday 14 July from 7am to approximately 3pm. Power will be isolated to all sections of the building for varying periods of time to facilitate maintenance of electrical infrastructure and equipment.

For safety reasons, the building will be closed during this time and no access permitted. Security guards will be in attendance.

Please ensure that any electrical equipment and computers are shut down before this event. If any electrical equipment needs to run continuously during this period please make alternative arrangements and contact Property Facilities and Development 8201 2733 as soon as possible.
