STEM girls urged to capture science images

Flinders University’s 2021 Cochlear Aurora Photo Contest is now open, offering cash prizes to reward young female science lovers for great photos that creatively capture interesting images of science.

Presented by STEM: Women Branching Out, the competition is now in its sixth year, and is open to all SA and Northern Territory female high school students in Years 7 to 12.

Organisers were delighted that 2020 had a record amount of regional entries and hope to expand on this through making the competition open to NT school girls for the first time this year.

With a prize pool of more than $4500, the contest is generously supported by major sponsor Cochlear and a range of organisations including the Australian Institute of Physics, the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Beach Energy, UniBank and Fulton Hogan.

Closing date for entries is 23 August 2021, and the entry form, terms and conditions can be found online.
