Celebrating the power of lyricism

The Dorset poems of William Barnes will be celebrated for the power of their lyricism in a new adaption of Vaughan Williams’ Linden Lea, to be held on Sunday 10 October.

Dr Gillian Dooley, from the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, will feature in the concert, alongside renowned artists including baritone Alex Roose, pianist Stephen van der Hoek, with readings and narration by Professor Tom Burton, an international specialist in the poetry of Barnes.

The concert will be held on Sunday 10 October at Madley Rehearsal Studio at Adelaide University.
