Feast Festival celebrates Queers in STEMM

As part of this year’s Feast Festival, QueersInScience SA and SAHMRI are partnering to hold several events that celebrate LGBT STEMM Day on Thursday 18 November.

This year, a free Queers in STEMM showcase will celebrate South Australia’s brightest LGBTQIA+ professionals who are working in and studying Science, Technology, Engineering, Medicine and Mathematics.

South Australia’s Chief Scientist Professor Caroline McMillen will provide a welcome address, followed by a panel discussion featuring LGBTQIA+ leaders in STEMM examining how to continue to breaking down barriers that will ensure greater LGBTQIA+ inclusion in STEMM.

If you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community working or studying in STEMM, we’d like to celebrate you and your work by presenting a short ‘Snapshot of my Science’ at the event. If you’d like to be involved, click here for more information.

The event will be held in the SAHMRI Auditorium, North Tce, Adelaide, from 5.30pm, or you can view the event online via Zoom. To register for the event, click here.
