Playford Trust scholarships now open

The Playford Trust has launched details and applications for the first 23 of the more than 60 scholarships and awards it is offering for 2023.

High-achieving Flinders students who are working in areas of strategic importance to South Australia are encouraged to apply for these scholarships, which are provided each year by the Playford Memorial Trust and its partners across industry, government, education and the community.

The opportunities on offer include 11 university scholarships and 12 study awards for TAFESA students.

The scholarships cover a wide range of fields including electronic, chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural engineering, signal processing or physics, sensing systems, aquaculture, agriculture, environment, and modern technology.

Students who excel in these areas should be encouraged to submit their details promptly – as applications will close on 16 September, with selections to be made in October. Applications for more than 40 additional university scholarships will open on 13 October.The first group of university scholarships includes eight that offer opportunities for work experience, including paid placements and summer vacation positions. The TAFESA awards cover courses across three key industry sectors and the award recipients will be named during a ceremony in November.

The second group of university scholarships will be finalised in March and announced at the Trust’s annual scholarship awards ceremony in April.For more information about these scholarships and awards, visit the Playford Trust’s scholarships page.
