SA Chief Scientist on industry partnerships

SA Chief Scientist Professor Caroline McMillen will join a panel of Flinders University researchers and partners from industry for an insightful and engaging panel discussion about how to successfully engage science with industry.

The Industry Engagement Panel Discussion at Alere Function Centre on Wednesday 24 August from 2.30-4pm will feature Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research Impact) Professor John Spoehr and Professor McMillen discussing the value and benefits of collaborating with industry partners.

The expert panellists – which will include Professor Sarah Wendt, Matthew Flinders Fellow and Professor in Social Work, and Sinead O’Connell, Senior Commercialisation Manager – will then discuss their own experiences with collaborations between university and industry, plus explain how to identify potential partners, and how to build and maintain productive relationships with partners.

Karen Ashford, Director of Media and Communications, will facilitate the panel discussion, which will be of great benefit to researchers of any career stage, especially those seeking to effectively engage with industry.
