Students lead high performance training

As part of their studies at Flinders, final year sport and physical education students have delivered two high performance football carnivals for the South Adelaide Football Club.

Under the coordination of Senior Lecturer Dr Sam Elliott, students delivered a series of games, athlete education sessions and performance testing sessions at Flinders University Stadium on 18 and 19 October 2022. More than 300 boys and girls, between the ages of 12 and 16, journeyed from as far as Kangaroo Island to attend the workshop as part of their entry into the South Adelaide Football Club’s talent pathway.

Highlights of the day included a guest talk from AFL star and Essendon Bomber Sam Draper.

Programs such as these enable Flinders students to emerge from their studies with the skills and vital experience to facilitate organised, professional and COVID-safe sport events.
