Flinders University Master of Physiotherapy students now have a new opportunity to learn from an experienced physiotherapist, thanks to a new partnership with Greg Campbell from Smart Health Training and Services.
Greg is running two half day sessions on Monday and Friday afternoons at Health2Go, providing members of the community with private physiotherapy services.
With client permission, students are able to sit in on these consultations, and ask Greg questions while he works, so they can better understand how to diagnose and address a patient’s concerns during a consultation. Students can also apply to undertake placement with Greg’s private business, Smart Health Training and Services, which will provide them with an opportunity to observe the operations of a private physiotherapy business.
Flinders University staff and students can make an appointment to have a physiotherapy session with Greg by calling Health2Go on 7221 8700. Private billing fees apply to this service and on-the-spot claims from health funds via HICAPS are available.
The Student Physiotherapist Service is also offered at Health2Go. Developed in collaboration with the Flinders University Master of Physiotherapy Program and staffed by final-year students, the service provides comprehensive physiotherapy assessment and management. Staff and the general community can receive quality physiotherapy care through this service that also provides a valuable opportunity for students to obtain clinical experience.
Initial attendance-based appointments for the Student Physiotherapist Service cost $20 and follow-up appointments cost $15. A $5 discount applies for concession card holders and students. Private health cover is not required. Appointments can be booked online, or by phoning 08 7221 8700.
