Get in the frame to support Women in Health

All Flinders University supporters of Women in Health are being to invited join the Flinders Health Data and Clinical Trials team this week for photographs to support the “I #WalkTheTalk” Women in Global Health campaign.

Women’s work – both paid and unpaid – forms the essential foundation for health, wellbeing and the delivery of health systems, with women holding about 70% of health worker jobs globally, and more than 80% of nursing and midwifery roles.

Despite the contribution women make to health systems and supporting the realisation of health for all, women hold only 25% of senior leadership roles in the sector. If leadership roles were allocated on merit, 70% of health sector leaders would be women – yet the current situation has men holding 75% of leadership roles while representing only 30% of health workers.

As part of the campaign to change this, the Flinders HDCT team is organising a series of group photos featuring Women in Health supporters – and want you to join in:

  • Wednesday 17 May @12:30pm sharp: The Plaza lawn, Bedford Park
  • Thursday 18 May @12:45pm sharp: Flinders Medical Oval, Bedford Park (bordered by University Drive, Shepherd’s Hill Drive and the new HMRB).

RSVP to Zoey Reed at zoey.reed@flinders.edu.au to receive a calendar invite for joining in this important campaign.

If you’re not at the Bedford Park campus, we’d love you to organise your own group photo between now and 18 May, and send it to hdct@flinders.edu.au by COB Thursday 18 May so it can be submitted to the WGH campaign.

The photos will be shared with the WGH campaign and on HDCT social media @flinders_HDCT.
