Flinders academics earn world-class ranking

Congratulations to the 68 current Flinders academics who have been listed among the top 2% of scientists globally for 2022 in the 6th annual Stanford-Elsevier standardised citation index. Professor Damien Riggs is ranked eighth in the world for the field of social work, with rankings based on number of citations according to Elsevier.

Professor Corey Bradshaw was the highest ranked current academic from Flinders University for the year, while Dr Ganesh Naik, Associate Professor Munish Puri, Professor Patrick Hesp, Professor Gillian Harvey, Professor Jonathan Karnon, Professor Julie Ratcliffe, Professor Adrian Linacre, Professor Lambert Schuwirth, Professor Alison Kitson, Professor Justin Chalker, Dr Daniel King and Professor Jonathan Craig were listed amongst the top 10 Australian researchers for their fields.

The Index also provides a ranking based on career citations, with 52 current Flinders academics appearing in the world top 2%. The rankings can be examined with and without self citation, and the citations of former staff are also available.

The announcement follows the recent release of The Good Universities Guide 2024 subject rankings, which saw Flinders ranked number one in South Australia for learner engagement, learning resources, overall experience, skills development, student support and teaching quality (The Good Universities Guide 2024 (undergraduate), public SA-founded universities only). Several Flinders subjects were also ranked in the top three in Australia.
