New study to tackle weight management

A clinical research study for people with excess weight, type 2 Diabetes and Sleep Apnoea – TRIUMPH-2 – is looking for volunteers to help test the effectiveness and safety of a new medicine for weight management.

If you meet the following requirements, you are encouraged to consider being involved:

  • Aged 18 years or older.
  • Have obesity or are overweight, with a BMI of 27 or higher.
  • Have type 2 diabetes.
  • Have sleep apnoea.
  • Have been unable to lose body weight on your own (or struggled to maintain weight loss).
  • Are willing to give yourself weekly injections.
  • Are also ready to take part in a full-length study (lasting about 1 year and 9 months).

This study has ethics approval from the Monash Health Human Research Ethics Committee and cross-institutional approval from the Flinders University Human Research Ethics Committee.
