Bus stop closure this weekend

Bus Stop C closed this weekend

Bus Stop C on Registry Road will be closed on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 March for kerb and bitumen repairs. Therefore, from 7pm on Friday 15 March to Sunday 17 March, all services using Bus Stop C will be moved to Bus Stop B. From Sunday 17 March for the following week, all Bus Stop C services will be moved to a temporary zone 20 metres to the east. Please follow signage placed at the bus stops and keep an eye out for any students who may need assistance.

Where is the Tenison Woods Observatory?

Behind Car Park 3 is the unused Tenison Woods Observatory, also known as the Bunker or the Vault. Built in 1977, it has been used by Geoscience Australia to support Adelaide’s earthquake monitoring systems – and now, as part of the Tenison Woods Observatory Reactivation Project, the existing collapsed retaining wall will be removed and the facility assessed for future use. While this is happening, several areas will be affected from 12 March to end of July 2024, so please take note of exclusion zones as you move through these areas:

• Pedestrian/cycling path between Car Park 3 and Bellevue Heights.

Campus entrance point at Bellevue Heights.

Car Park 3 overflow area.

RCD Testing and Test & Tag Program Update

RCD Testing and Test & Tag of electrical appliances continues. This is essential electrical maintenance to ensure we comply with mandatory safety obligations. During March, contractors will move through Tonsley campus and start on Sturt Campus buildings.  RCD Testing will be conducted between midnight and 8am, and involves a brief power outage. Test & Tag will be conducted both after hours and during business hours. It requires your appliances to be powered down for a few minutes.

What do you need to do? If you manage power sensitive or critical equipment and require specific timing arrangements to minimise impact, please contact David Henderson immediately. If you are leaving your laptop at work or if you use a PC, please make sure that you save your work before you leave each day.

How to find available car parks

Rather than driving around searching for a car park, did you know you can check online for availability of general, business blue and disabled parking bays? Using sensors in the car parks, the ‘View available carparks’ page updates availability of spaces in real-time. You can navigate online from either the Flinders staff website > Workplace support > Parking, to the ‘View available carparks’ tab, or use this link.
