Construction closes Car Park 7

Car Park 7 construction zone

We currently have three projects in or adjacent to Car Park 7:

  • Physical Sciences – stormwater upgrade. This is Stage 1 of the Physical Sciences Roof Renewal project and will involve digging stormwater trenches around the perimeter of the building (managed in stages).
  • Biology Transformer – on Thursday 4 April, a crane in car park 7 will lift a new transformer onto a concrete pad ready for installation.
  • Undergraduate Science Lab Stage 2 Physical Sciences – Builders are on site for demolition and refurbishment, and works will commence soon.

For safety reasons, the entire area of Car Park 7 has been declared a construction zone. There is NO vehicle access and the best pedestrian access is via the northern breezeway (Biology Building end), along a marked footpath. Please take care when moving around the area.

Electrical Maintenance Program – Tonsley and Sturt campuses

To meet mandatory compliance obligations and keep everyone safe, essential electrical safety maintenance will be carried out at Tonsley and Sturt through March. RCD (Safety Switch) Testing will be conducted between midnight and 8am, involving a short power outage, while Test & Tag of electrical appliances will be conducted both after hours and during business hours (this requires your appliances to be powered down for a few minutes).

At Tonsley, E-Stop (the red laboratory Emergency Electrical Isolation buttons) will also be tested after hours in conjunction with the RCD testing.

What do you need to do?

  • Save your work before you leave each day.
  • If you manage power sensitive or critical equipment and require specific timing arrangements to minimise impact, please contact David Henderson.
  • If you keep appliances in a secure cupboard or room, please reach out to arrange a time for Test & Tag.

In April the electrical maintenance program shifts back to north ridge: Yungkurrinthi Student Engagement, Health Counselling & Disability, Sports Centre, Health Sciences and Health Sciences Lecture Theatre Complex.
