Flinders’ delicious recipe for Harmony Day

Flinders University turned orange on Friday March 22 in honour of Harmony Day, a national celebration of Australia’s cultural diversity.

The Finance and Procurement Team held a lunch that honoured its people who come from a rich array of different cultures – and they each brought traditional food and stories to share.

Decked out in orange, the F&P team enjoyed listening and dancing to music styles from around the world as they enjoyed cuisine from Sri Lanka (coconut roti, koththu and chicken curry), India (shahi tukda, millets upma, kala chana and kesari), Vietnam (honeycomb cake), Macedonia (tavche gravche and ajvar), Serbia (burek), Ireland (Irish stew and mashed potatoes), Northern Ireland (wheaten bread), Zimbabwe (biltong and droewors), South Africa (boerewors), Wales (Welsh cake), guacamole from Latin America, and the most delicious lamingtons and Vegemite scrolls from Australia.
