Electrical Maintenance at Bedford Park in May

To meet mandatory compliance obligations and keep everyone safe, the essential electrical safety maintenance team will service the following buildings during May:

  • Engineering (Sir Eric Neal Building).
  • Information Science and Technology Building.
  • Science Innovation and Learning Centre.
  • Earth Sciences.
  • Nature Education & Research Facility (formerly Biodiversity).
  • Biology Discovery Centre.

Safety Switch testing will be conducted between midnight and 8:00am, involving a short power outage. Test & Tag of electrical appliance will be conducted both after hours and during business hours. It requires your appliances to be available and powered down for a few minutes.

What do you need to do?

Save your work before you leave each day, and if you keep appliances in secure cupboards/rooms, please contact Pram Kalubowila to arrange a time to have them tested. If you manage power sensitive or critical equipment and require specific timing arrangements to minimise impact, please contact Pram Kalubowila.

Tonsley car park 3 repairs

Car park 3 is being closed on Monday May 20 for works. The car park, located on the southern-most tip of the Tonsley Innovation District, is primarily used by TAFE students, however its closure will increase pressure on other car parks, so please consider catching public transport and utilising the campus bus services to and from Bedford Park and Sturt campuses, if you usually park at Tonsley.

Registry building refurbishments

Reconfiguration of office accommodation in the Professional Services and Registry buildings continues. The objective of these works is to optimise space, enabling both co-location and growth of teams within the Office of the Vice Chancellor and Chief of Staff portfolio.

The refurbishment of room 117 on level 1 of the Registry building is nearly complete with the International Call Centre team moving in soon, allowing for co-location of the growing International Services team. Refurbishment of multiple rooms on level 2 including the Alumni and Advancement space are now also underway.

Improvements to CSE and car park 7

Works are progressing well on the new ground floor undergraduate science lab and the roof renewal/stormwater upgrade in and around Physical Sciences and car park 7. If you work in CSE buildings, check out the updates on the CSE Central SharePoint page. Visitors to the area, please note the compound and barriers may change and/or move during the week, so follow directions on signage and allow extra time to take detours.
