Flinders has a longstanding partnership with Community Bridging Services (CBS) to provide specialist employment advice for students – and this service has now been expanded.
For students who might need a little extra support, the University Specialist Employment Partnership (USEP) is available to provide one-on-one employment advice that will empower students who identify with disabilities, chronic illness, injuries, mental health conditions and neurodiversity.
In 2024, the service has been expanded to include two advisors providing in-person and on-line support – and students can be directed to the newly-created student site on CareerHub for more information about the service or to book a 30-minute appointment.
Examples of advice and support provided:
• Preparation for entering the workforce.
• Engaging with employers, including making a ‘disclosure plan’.
• Resume and interview preparation.
• Accessing NDIS.
• Preparing for placement.
Contact careers@flinders.edu.au if you have questions, or are interested in connecting with the USEP team.
