Celebrate International Women’s Day

This year, Flinders will celebrate the achievements of women for International Women’s Day on Tuesday 10 March and we invite you to come along and join the festivities.

The UN Women Australia’s International Women’s Day theme is – Balance the Scales.

Our event MC will be Clare Mockler, Flinders University Council member and Executive Director, CreateSA, Department for Premier and Cabinet.

We’re delighted also that Rebecca Plummer joins us as keynote speaker.  Ms Plummer is CEO of Justice Net SA, a Churchill Fellow, Member of the Flinders University Law Board of Advisors, Flinders Alumni (BIntSt, LLB/LP ’14), and Member of the Law Society of South Australia Justice Access Committee.

This event is proud to support Catherine House who provide crisis, longer-term accommodation and support services to women experiencing homelessness in South Australia.

We encourage attendees to bring along donations of eligible new and unused personal care, homeware, arts and crafts or long-life grocery items from the Catherine House Wishlist. Donations can be made at our Bedford Park or City Campus.

Please take care to note the list of items Catherine House is unable to accept (including clothing).

You might also like to to help us reach our donation goal with a monetary donation.

Thanks to UniSuper, there will be giveaways giveaways. Visit the UniSuper stand to find out more about how they are committed to gender equity.

On-campus gatherings have also been organised at some of our rural and remote campuses, and our city campus. Be sure to select your preferred location when you complete your registration.

We encourage you to join fellow staff and students to celebrate, by registering here.

If you are not able to attend in person you can join the event via livestream.
